Nutrition Information for Foods Sold in Restaurants and Foodservice Establishments

CRFA and Canada’s largest restaurant chains joined forces in February 2005 to launch a Nutrition Information Program that makes it easier for consumers to obtain detailed nutrition information for standardized menu items. 

The program is similar to the familiar Food Facts panel on packaged foods, and provides consumers with the amount of:

In addition, participating restaurants are encouraged to note the presence of the top 10 food allergens:  peanuts, tree nuts, milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, soy, wheat and other gluten, sesame seeds and sulphite.

A total of 33 chains representing thousands of restaurant locations across Canada have signed on to the program.
