Saskatchewan reviews labour legislation
(Jun. 11/12) In late May, Saskatchewan announced a formal consultation in its review of the province’s labour legislation. CRFA has been invited by Minister of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety Don Morgan to provide input on proposed changes by the July 31 deadline.
Issues of interest to restaurateurs include:
- potential indexation of minimum wage (which CRFA successfully fought in 2011); and
- potential changes to notice provisions for dismissal, union certification and decertification, and appeals and penalties.
