CRFA seeks alignment on food and health policy

CRFA’s Joyce Reynolds shares the restaurant industry’s perspective in a workshop at the 2nd National Obesity Summit in Montreal, April 28 – May 1, 2011.

(May 5/11) Obesity prevention and treatment was on the table at the 2nd National Obesity Summit, held April 28 – May 1 in Montreal. Drawing more than 1,000 delegates and presenters from health care, research, academia and policy, and not-for-profit sectors, the summit gave CRFA the opportunity to share our healthy living vision and the restaurant industry’s positive, ongoing contributions in this area.

As a workshop speaker, CRFA’s Joyce Reynolds presented “Moving Toward Good Food Citizenship: A Foodservice Perspective,” where she shared results of CRFA’s Healthy Living Survey and 2011 Canadian Chef Survey. Chaired by the Canadian Agri-Food Policy Institute, the workshop included presentations from food manufacturers and agriculture, and promoted collaboration between the agri-food and health sectors to improve understanding, engagement and alignment on food and health policy.
