CRFA challenges proposed WCB rate increase in Saskatchewan

(Dec. 15/11) The Saskatchewan Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB) has proposed a 4.1 per cent premium increase for restaurant and foodservice operators in the province. The proposed increase would raise rates from the current $0.97 per $100 of insurable payroll to $1.01 per $100.

CRFA expressed the industry’s displeasure with the increase at the WCB’s rate consultation meeting in Regina in mid-November. We also wrote a letter of appeal to the WCB’s Board of Directors asking that they once again freeze premiums at $0.97 per $100 of insurable payroll.
