(Dec. 09/10) CRFA’s efforts to unmask the Nova Scotia government’s attempts to give more power to unions continues to unfold in the Legislature. Given the strong reaction by CRFA and other business groups, both opposition parties are filibustering Bill 100, Labour Board Act, to stop the government from implementing this pro-union legislation that will upset the province’s delicate labour management balance.
Following a meeting with the Minister of Labour Marilyn More and senior officials from the Premier’s Office, CRFA and other business organizations have forwarded amendments to government that could address some of the business community’s concerns. CRFA members are encouraged to contact their MLA at http://nslegislature.ca/index/php/people/members to express concerns and ask that amendments be implemented. Please copy CRFA Vice President Atlantic Canada Luc Erjavec in your e-mail at lerjavec@crfa.ca.
